Sir Peter Ogden in every September has competed at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup.
He competed in the Porto Cervo, emerald waters in Sardinia. However, this year, he will be seen racing Jethou, the Mini Maxi of the 72-foot.
Sir Peter Ogden is from Britain and the co-founder of Computacenter, it is of the largest computer businesses in Britain. In addition to doing business, the other thing that he has always placed in a priority is the fun. According to Ogden, a win in the race is nice, but sailing is all about having a good time.
Ogden said, “When you take part in a number of races, you tend to remember those, which you have won, not those which you lose. Now, when it comes to dealing with the loose, there are no reasons to get angry, these are the normal things that happen on the water. You can’t hold a grudge, what happened on the water, leave it there.”
In an interview when Ogden was asked about his interest in sailing, his response was this.
You are a multimillionaire businessman who can do anything. What make you come for sailing big boats?
Ogden said, it is just an attraction for sailing and water. It is a personal bonding, I love the people with whom I sail and I am getting older. At the age of 70, I can’t play the football, but I can sail the big boats.
When asked, running a yacht is serious business, yet you managed to have a good time with it. How do you do that?
Sailing is all about having fun; it is my hobby, not my life. I take it as a hobby, I do it and I enjoy it. Also, I love the people with whom I sail. We are not the professional people, but amateur sailors.
